Playhouse Project Blitz Build inspires the next generation of homeowners

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The 4th Annual Playhouse Blitz Build, a special fundraising initiative, brought together the entire community, including dozens of businesses and hundreds of volunteers, and it’s all about dreaming big and build bigger.

Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity, along with its title sponsor, Libbey Glass, and dozens of local businesses, including 13abc, are sponsoring the design and construction of 30 dream cabins specially designed for deserving children in the community.

“It’s just a great link between homeownership and the Habitat principles, which is that everyone deserves a place to live,” said Michael McIntyre, General Manager of Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity. “We are delighted to have this fundraiser here at Fifth Third Field for the fourth year in a row.”

The goal is to inspire pride and joy in homeownership at a young age and is one of their biggest fundraisers of the year, raising more than $ 125,000 to provide affordable housing and repairs to residents. families in need in Lucas County.

“These custom designed playhouses are truly a wonderful blessing for our children,” said McIntyre. “This last year has been difficult, a lot of people are locked inside. It’s a way for them to go out, to play with their friends, to be in their garden and to really have a place of their own, so we think it’s a wonderful blessing in a child’s life.
