Margaret Bruce Pauley, 83, of Bastian, VA, died Saturday, June 12, 2021 with her family surrounding her. He dealt with dementia for many years and died after a brief acute illness. She was born on October 1, 1937 in Bastian, VA, the daughter of the late William Wallace, Sr. and Bertha Neel Bruce.
Margaret was a lifelong member of Bastian Union Church. He was a homemaker and caregiver to his parents. She especially loved quilting, leaving behind her outstanding quilting friend, Eunice Childress. He loved his church and the many activities and projects they did throughout the year.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Leon Pauley, and a brother William Wallace Bruce, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters and son -in -law, Janet & Mike Honaker and Andrea & Chris Harless; his grandchildren and their wives and children John & Luke Trent, Richmond, VA, Eric & Catherine Harless, Rowan & Brynn, Tyler & Morgan Harless and Zadiee; and many nieces, nephews, cousins ​​and special friends.
Margaret’s requests, she was burned and had no public service plan. A private cemetery will take place at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to thank their friends and family for the prayers and comfort at this time, especially dear friend Mrs. Ila Kitts. They also want to thank Dr. John Turski and Dr. John Harkless and at the Hospice of Southwest Virginia.
