Margaret A. Asberry | Independent of Seward

Margaret Ann (Hoffman) Asberry was born on Feb. 12, 1929, in Centerville, Illinois, to Glenn and Loretta (Vallowe) Hoffman and died May 30, 2021, in Seward, at the age of 92 years, 3 months and 18 days.

Margaret grew up on East St. Louis, Illinois, and attended school in St. Louis. Henry Catholic School. She was united in marriage to Louis Mifflin in 1946, and in this union, four children were born. Margaret was later divorced. She was a homemaker as well as a great mother. Margaret worked at the Box Factory in St. Louis. Louis for many years. She later married Sylvan Asberry in 1962 in Rosemont, Illinois. The couple lived in Fairmont City, Illinois, then moved to Seward in 1987 to be closer to family. Margaret is a member of Hillcrest Evangelical Free Church. She enjoys shopping, decorating for every holiday, making crossword puzzles and she likes to receive flowers. Margaret loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Loretta Hoffman; wife, Sylvan Asberry; son, Raymond Harr Mifflin; grandchildren, Jon Mifflin and Jason Mifflin; brother, Richard Carl Hoffman; sister, Dorothy Pierce.

Survivors who cherish his memory include his sons and daughter -in -law, Stan and Mary Mifflin, Sun City West, Arizona, Louis and Cathy Mifflin, Maryville, Illinois, Bruce and Joyce Mifflin, Seward; many grandchildren, great -grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was on June 4 with an interment at Seward Cemetery. Memorial contributions are proposed to Hillcrest Evangelical Free Church. Condolences can be left for the family at
