Joyce Elaine (Garriott) Perry, 77, passed away in New Albany on Thursday, June 3, 2021. Joyce was born on March 13, 1944 in Carrollton, Kentucky to the late Mr. Richard Garriott and Mrs. Martha (Hudgins) Garriott Laswell. He was a faithful longtime member of The First Baptist Church on Spring Street in New Albany. Joyce is honest and kind and has worked for many years in child care for special needs children in Bridgepointe.
Joyce’s heart is her family and she is the most happy in taking and caring for them. She prides herself as a homemade and if you have four legs or two, in her house she loves you deeply and often breaks down. She loves gardening, sewing and acting, and is an avid reader. He had a special love for birds with his favorite cardinals even though he was a true blue U of K fan.
Joyce was preceded by the death of; his father, Richard Garriott; his mother, Martha (Hudgins) Garriott Laswell; his loving wife of over 50 Years, (Orville) Gene Perry; son, Timothy Perry; and daughter, Kimberly McDonald.
Left to mourn his passing; sisters, Betty Kinley (Bill), and Patty Kemper (Buddy); grandchildren, Michael McDonald (Lisa Meece), and Christopher Perry (Amanda); and son -in -law, Leamon McDonald.
The visit will take place at First Baptist Church located at 813 East Spring Street, New Albany, IN. on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Funeral will be followed by a funeral service at Graceland Memorial Park located on Charlestown Road in New Albany, IN.
Expressions of sympathy may be made at First Baptist Church in honor of Joyce E. Perry.
